Admission to Warsaw Medical University in English
 
Admission to 4-year medical program, 6-year medical program, 5-year degree of Master of Pharmacy and 5-year Dental programs in English is based on high school certificate, bachelor diploma and  entrance exam  depending on program. 
 
4-year medical program
The 4- year program is offered for college graduates having BSc degrees, who have completed their pre-medical education and have 1200 hours of pre-med courses, e.g. general chemistry (including labs), organic chemistry (including labs), biology, physics, maths (calculus), biochemistry, genetics, anatomy etc. There is no entrance exam. The application is done online.
6-year medical program in English: for high school graduates;
5-year degree of Master of Pharmacy program: for high school graduates;
5-year Dental program: for high school graduates;
 
Admission Requirements
The admission procedure for international students depends on high school diploma: 
•Student with IB diploma – International Baccalaureate (IB issued by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland) or EB diploma – European Baccalaureate (EB - issued to the graduates of the European schools for the employees of the European Union Institution only) are admitted to Medical University of Warsaw bases   on their high school diplomas and don’t have to sit for the entrance exam.  Registration is in general from   March to the middle of July.
•Student with High School Diploma other than IB, EB or “nowa matura” diploma (“new” Polish High School Certificate) must sit for the entrance exam.  Registration is open in general from   March to the end of April.
 
Language Requirements
English is the language of instruction at the English Division of Medical University of Warsaw; therefore appliquant must be proficient in speaking, listening, reading and writing English. International students who are not native English speakers must document their language proficiency by submitting the results of a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or a Pearson PTE Academic score.
 
Student Visa Requirement 
Nationals of European Economic Area countries or from Monaco or Switzerland may move freely. They may travel to Poland on the strength of a national passport or identity card. All other nationalities should apply for a student visa (type D) with the Polish embassy or consulate in their current country of residence before leaving for Poland, if they want to stay in Poland for longer than 3 months. Exceptions to this rule may be possible if you hold a passport or a residence permit for a Schengen country. If this is the case, please contact the embassy or consulate for more information.
English divisions of Warsaw Medical University
 
The English Division of Warsaw Medical University was established in 1993 for students interested in studying medicine in English.
 
The Division offers two rigorous English language programs:
  • 6-year MD program of the Second Faculty of Medicine was established in 1993 ( for high school graduates);
  • 4-year MD program of the Second Faculty of Medicine was established in 1993 (for holders of a Bachelor’s Degree);
  • 5-year DDS program of the Second Faculty of Dentistry was established in 2012 (for high school graduates); 
  • 5 year Pharm. D. Program of the Second Faculty of Pharmacy was established in 2014 (for high school graduates); 
Above programs follow the European Union standards. At the end of each program the graduates are awarded an MD degree, DDS degree or Master of Pharmacy degree and receive a medical diploma recognized in the European Union, USA, Canada and most other countries of the world.
The curriculum of a 6-year program is comprised of 2 preclinical and 4 clinical years; the 4-year program includes 2 preclinical and 2 clinical years. Basic science and premedical training of the English Division students is provided in the form of lectures, seminars and practical classes by more than 70 departments and clinics of the medical University of Warsaw and those affiliated to the University.
Having completed the basic science part of the study program, the students are eligible to sit for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) Step 1 and, upon completion of the clinical part of the program, for the USMLE Step 2.
 
The Medical University of Warsaw offers a 5-year program in dentistry for high school graduates. At the end of this program the graduates is awarded a DDS degree and receive a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conform the European Union standards of dental medicine. The graduates can continue their education.
The total duration of the 5-year dental program is 10 semesters, during which the students are expected to attend more than 5000 hours of lectures, seminars, and practical classes. The curriculum of English Dentistry Division covers 150 weeks (300 ECTS).
 
The five-year undergraduate pharmacy course leads to the degree of Master of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and, after a further 6-month of pre-registration training in an approved pharmacies, to registration as a pharmacist. Polish registration is recognized in other member states of the EU.
The Faculty enjoys a national and international reputation for research and innovation. Innovative teaching, clinical and experiential placements and business skills programs provide our students with a well-rounded and professionally relevant pharmacy degree, putting them in high demand with employers.   
Upon completion of each year of the studies, the students are required to take a 4 week summer practical training, which is mandatory and included in the curriculum. The practical trainings can be served in recognized institutions in the native countries of the students.
 
English division of the Faculty of Medicine 
The English Division of the Second Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1993 at the Medical University of Warsaw for students interested in studying medicine abroad in English.
The English medical division offers two programs: a 6-year program for high school graduates and a 4-year program for college/university graduates. Graduates students are awarded the MD degree and receive a medical diploma recognized in the European Union, USA, Canada and most other countries of the world.
 
English division of the Faculty of Pharmacy
The five-year undergraduate pharmacy course leads to the degree of Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) and, after a further 6-month of pre-registration training in an approved pharmacies, to registration as a pharmacist is open since 2014. Polish registration is recognized in other member states of the EU and beyond.

English division of the Faculty of Dentistry
The Medical University of Warsaw will offer the 5-year Dental program to High School graduates. The program adopted to the EU standards offers more than 5000 hours of learning and 300 ECTS.
Total duration of the 5-year dental program which contain 150 weeks by 10 semesters, during which the students have lectures, seminars, and practical classes. Upon completion of each year of the studies, students are required to take a 4 week summer practical training, which is mandatory and included in the curriculum. The practical trainings can be served in recognized institutions in the native countries of the students.
The Graduate obtain DMD degree and receive a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conforms the European Union standards of dental program. The graduate can continue their education at the Medical University of Warsaw both as a scientist or as a teacher.

Jagiellonian University Medical College

The first students of the School of Medicine in English (general medicine and dentistry) at Jagiellonian University Medical College were admitted in October letter. Six year letter, nearly 600 students from five continents and twenty countries, predominantly from Norway, USA, and Canada were enrolled in the School. Academic staff includes the most experienced scholars and lecturers at Jagiellonian University, as well as foreign academics from the USA, England, Germany, and other countries.

The School of Medicine in English offers three programs: 4 year Graduate Entry MBBS/MD Medicine program for graduates of pre-medical college/university bachelor programs in the USA/Canada; 6 year medical program for graduates of secondary schools and Master 5-year D.D.S. Program (5-year Dentistry program) for high school graduates.

Jagiellonian University Medical College was founded by Casimir III of Poland in 1364 and remains the oldest medical school in Poland. Presently, the University is divided into 11 faculties, among which 3 medical faculties, that conduct teaching, research and academic training: Law and Administration, Philosophy, History, Philology, Mathematics and Physics, Biology and Earth Sciences, Chemistry, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing.

These English-language programs remain in compliance with Polish and EU standards of teaching, the US Department of Education (Stafford Loan Program), and Medical Board of California. Under agreements with different universities, final year stu¬dents of the School of Medicine in English have the oppor¬tunity to complete elective rotations at, among others, the University of California San Diego, University of California Irvine, University of California Los Angeles, Loma Linda University Medical Center, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Graduates of these programs receive a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Dentistry (DDS) degree by the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Medicine and they are eligible to apply for resi¬dency and postgraduate training programs at university teaching hospitals in various countries, including the USA (Illinois, Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, Utah, Vermont, New York, Georgia, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, West Virginia, Ohio, Louisiana, South Carolina and Washington DC), Canada (Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta), Australia, England, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, and Poland.

Medical University of Warsaw
 
The Medical University of Warsaw is one of the best medical universities abroad. Admission procedure to Medical University of Gdańsk

Candidates from countries outside Poland and Israel interested in studies at the 5,5-year Master of Pharmacy program (English Division) should register in electronic candidate database and submit a completed application package by regular mail to the Admission Office at the Medical University of Gdańsk between by meddle of July.

All candidates are obliged to take an entrance exam in biology and chemistry at the level of high school. Entrance exam will take place on 1st and 2nd of August 2013 at Medical University of Gdansk. Candidates will be selected by the Admission Committee on the basis of their final scores from entrance exam, scores from High School Diploma in biology and chemistry and optional score from additional oral examination (Admission Committee’s decision).

Documents required for admission to Medical University of Gdańsk :

  • a completed application form (printed from electronic candidate database)
  • a completed affidavit of citizenship AFFIDAVIT OF CITIZENSHIP – Master of Pharmacy programme (153.6 KB)
  • a copy of High School Diploma or its equivalent in candidate’s native language certified by candidate’s school or by a public notary
  • an English translation of the above original documents, translated and certificated by candidate’s school or by a sworn translator (does not apply to documents in English or Polish)
  • a photocopy of the applicant’s passport certified by a public notary
  • two recent (size 35mm-45mm) photographs signed at the back (head not covered)
  • a copy of birth certificate certified by a public notary

Copies of documents may be certified as true copies by the Admission Officer if candidate submits in person the original documents for review.
