Poznan University of Medical Sciences: Master 6-year M.D. Program

The six-year M.D. Program is based on the Polish curriculum and designed for international candidates who have graduated from high school, and who have obtained good grades in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. This program is fully recognized by the Medical Board of California (USA).

Course of Medicine is divided in 2 parts:

  • Preclinical studies: three preclinical years is devoted primarily to Anatomy, Medical Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Histology and Embryology, Physiology study. During that time, the clinical aspects of these subjects are gradually introduced as well.
  • Clinical studies: fourth year and takes up the remaining three years of the course: two years of clinical knowledge and training and one year dedicated to elective clinical practice.

Upon completing all of the theoretical and clinical subjects and after passing all of the required examinations, students are awarded the degree of Medical Doctor — M.D.

Medical student candidates for this program may be accepted after demonstrating a necessary record of academic achievement and after passing an interview with PUMS Admissions Committee.

Accelerated 4 year graduate medical programat at Poznan University of Medical Sciences

The four-year M.D. Program is designed for U.S., Canadian, and other international college graduates who have completed their pre-medical education and who have obtained satisfactory grades in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English.

Poznan University of Medical Sciences: Master 5-year D.D.S. Program

Master of Dentistry or 5-year D.D.S. program is designed for international candidates who have graduated from high school, and who have obtained good grades in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. The curriculum for the English five-year D.D.S. program at Poznan University of Medical sciences follows the one taught to the European students.

Upon completion, successful students will receive the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, D.D.S. Those graduates who plan to practice dentistry in North America will have to complete two additional years of study in the United States or Canada, making it a total of seven years to obtain a license. It is a standard requirement for all graduates with a foreign degree in North America.

Pharmacy course of Poznan University of Medical Sciences is a six-year Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.). The program is designed for U.S., Canadian, and other international high school or college graduates whose goal is to receive a degree in pharmacy.

This six-year Pharm. D. curriculum is designed to meet the standards and guidelines for professional programs in pharmacy defined by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). It also adheres to the Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and to the requirements of the Council on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications.

Candidates for this program may be accepted after demonstrating a necessary record of academic achievement in Biology, Chemistry, and English; and after passing an interview with Poznan University of Medical Sciences Admissions Committee.

High school graduates apply for admission to the first year (first pre-pharmacy year). Graduate students may apply for admission to the third year (first professional year) of the Pharm. D. Program based on their academic record.
