Basic admission prerequisites to Study at Charles University
Previous education: certificate or diploma
The basic prerequisite for admission to study at Charles University is to have appropriate previous level of education. Therefore, for the admission to bachelor degree program or Master’s degree program, the candidate must have respectively a high school certificate or bachelor certificate in appropriate field. The prerequisite for admission to a PhD program is a Master’s degree. To get into 4 year entry medicine program in English, the candidate must have a high school certificate and Bachelor degree in appropriate field.
The applicant must provide evidence of having completed the required level of education – a secondary school leaving certificate, diploma etc. Unless stated otherwise by an international treaty, the document containing proof of completion of secondary, vocational secondary or tertiary level education issued by a higher education institution abroad must be submitted together with a document testifying to the recognition of the foreign qualification or degree (or its part) in the Czech Republic.
Language requirement
The basic language of study in in Czech Republic is Czeck, but they are also several programs available in English or German at Charles University. The candidate must have a good command of language of instruction.
