Gomel State Medical University
Gomel State Medical University was in 1990 to ensure the training of doctors and highly qualified specialists for the most affected by the disaster of Chernobyl in Gomel and Mogilev regions.
In 2001, the institute was renamed the State Higher Educational Institution "Gomel State Medical Institute."
In 2000, the Faculty of international students was open and in 2013, the university was accredited in the Republic of Belarus to meet university type and renamed to "Gomel State Medical University".
Gomel State Medical University today has more than 300 highly qualified professors, associate professors, assistant; 4 faculties (medical, medical-diagnostic, Department for training specialists for foreign countries, Faculty of pre-university training); Internship and Residency; doctorate, post-graduate and master's degree programs.
