Study Medicine in Hungary
Medicine in Hungary has a long-standing tradition and culture in medical studies and hearth care field.
International Medical University students are attracted by medical studies in Hungary because of several available programs(medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, etc.) in different languages (Hungary, English or Germany on student choice), the quality of education and prr-medical courses to improve English, biology, physics and chemistry basic knowledge for further studies for those who are in need and reasonable tuition fees compared to the fees in USA, Canada, UK, etc.
The main requirements for medical university admission requirements are the high school leaving diploma, good knowledge of medium of study (English, German or Hungarian) and to pass medical university entrance exam.
The tuition fees range from around 12000 to 15000 Euro/year and they can be paid twice a year and t is fall less to tuition fees in most countries in Occident, USA, UK or Canada.
Today Hungary doctors are well appreciated in occidental countries and all over the world and Hungary medical Universities attract thousands of international medical University students every year.
Medical, dental and pharmacy training of most medical universities in Hungary is accredited by the World Health Organization, US Department of Education, The State Education Department (NY, USA), Medical Board of California, the General Medicine Council (UK - PLAB exam is compulsory), Medical Councils of Israel, Ireland, Iran and Norway. In most European countries - not listed above - and also in India the diploma of the University of Debrecen, Medical and Health Science Centre is accepted for registration purposes; however a qualifying exam is compulsory.
International recognition of medical degrees
European Economic Area (EU/EEA): Hungarian medical university degrees are recognized in all European Economic Area and Switzerland;
USA: Hungarian graduates (as foreign graduates) in medical course have the right to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE), after which they are eligible for residency;
Canada: Hungarian graduates (as foreign graduates) in medical course are eligible to pass the Medical Council of Canada Evaluation Examination (MCCEE) and the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) before applying for residencies;
Israel: Hungarian graduates (as foreign graduates) in medical course have to complete a one-year practice and pass a test before they are eligible for obtaining the permit to practice medicine;
India: Doctor of Dentistry degree of Hungarian Medical University is equivalent to B.D.S. degree in India;
Hungary is a popular destination for international students, particularly in medicine, dentistry, nursing, Physiotherapy and Public Health. Most medical courses are offered in English and Hungarian, but some medical universities in Hungary offer also medical courses in German.
