Grodno State Medical University
The Grodno State Medical Institute was established in 1958.
Faculty of General Medicine
Faculty of General Medicine was the only faculty of the university and trained physicians of almost all medical specialties. The number of first graduates students was 248 and today, 500-600 young specialists graduate from the Faculty every year. Special emphasis is given to the training of specialists providing medical and prophylactic care in the sphere of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of adult population.
Faculty of Medical Diagnostics
Established in 2008 on the basis of the Faculty of Graduate Nurses, the Faculty offers two majors:
- 4-year nursing program leading to the qualification “Graduate Nurse”;
- 5-year Medical Diagnostics program, leading to the qualification “Physician”;
Faculty of Mental Health Medicine
Created in1993 the Faculty of Mental Health Medicine is currently the only such faculty in the Republic of Belarus. The faculty includes: Department of Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, Department of General Pedagogy and Psychology, Department of Medical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Graduates of the Faculty are employed in the position of psychiatrists, addiction psychiatrists, psychotherapists. Many of them have Ph.D. degrees, many of them are chief medical officers at psychiatric and addiction medical institutions.
Faculty of Pediatrics
The Faculty of Pediatrics offers four majors: Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Gynecology.

Leading to qualifications approved by GMC, GDC, RCVS,
HCPC, NMC in UK and recognised in all over the world.
