Medical University of Lublin was established in 1944 and today it offer 6 year general medicine, 4 year graduate entry medicine and 5 year dentistry program in English along with several programs in polish. Unity of Medicine of Lublin is among the first school In East Europe with predominate medical students from USA and Canada.
An agreement with the Hope Medical Institute from the United States was signed in the early 1990's, which initiated a program of teaching medicine to English-speaking students at the Medical University of Lublin. Thereafter a 4 year MD program was formed.
In 2001, the English Language Division of the medical faculty was formed. This branch of the university is responsible for designing and implementing a curriculum for students in the English language. The programs consist of four-year and six-year programs. After completion of the required coursework in Poland, students are then given the option of pursuing clinical clerkships in either Poland or various locations in the United States in order to fulfill the requirements for an M.D. degree.
The teaching program covers all branches of modern medicine and is similar to medical programs in the USA. Through its partner Hope Medical Institute, the Medical University provides the last two years of medical school (Clinical Rotations) to eligible students in the USA and Canada.
Lublin is pride in having five universities with the total number of students reaching almost 100,000. As the biggest Polish city east of the Vistula river, Lublin provides variety of facilities for students – cultural centers, theatres, cinemas. It offers wide range of annual festivals, music concerts and artistic exhibitions.
